Objectives of Course:

This online Course will guide, prepare and counsel practising Lawyers to appear and take Advocate on Record Exams, Supreme Court of India. You will understand what Advocates-on- Record (AOR) do and how one could become an Advocate-on- Record (AOR).

There is a scarcity of good study material in the market.  More so, there are no Multiple Choice Questions guide and assignments to test your knowledge and information that will enable you to appear confidently in the examination.

One of the basic criteria for appearing at Advocate-on-Record examination is to enroll for training under an AoR. IALM guides Advocates all over India to be enrolled as a trainee as per Supreme Court Rules, 2013. We do this by 1) providing contact information of all AoRs; 2) pointing out specific vacancy, if available; 3) preparation of covering- application alongwith draft CV; and 4) preparation of interview or telephonic conversation with AoRs.

Structure of the Examination:

Paper-1: Practice and Procedure of Supreme Court (Day1: 3 hrs)
Paper-2: Drafting (Day2: 3 hrs)
Paper-3: Advocacy and Professional Ethics (Day3: 3 hrs)
Paper-4: Leading Cases (Day4: 3 hrs)

Eligibility of Advocates-on-Record AOR exams:

1) One should be a practicing advocate (either at the Supreme Court of India or other courts of India) for at least four years
2) One should undergo training under an Advocate on Record (AOR) for one year.

Under Rule 5 (i) and (ii) of Order IV, Supreme Court Rules, 2013 and Regulation 2 of the Regulations regarding Advocates-on-Record Examination made thereunder governing the Examination for Advocates-on-Record, it is hereby notified for the information of all concerned that the next Examination for the Advocates-on-Record will be held in the Supreme Court Premises, New Delhi on 12th, 13th, 14th & 15th June, 2018. 
    2. All Advocates who will be completing one year's continuous training on or before 30th April, 2018 are eligible to appear for the aforesaid examination.
