on December 16, 2017 (Saturday) at Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi

Indian Academy of Law & Management (IALM) is organizing a one-day "Human Rights, Education and Training Program"  on 16th December, 2017 (Saturday) at New Delhi.

The workshops will be co-facilitated by Mr. Syed Mujataba Hussain, LL.M. in Human Rights, Human Rights Activist from Kashmir, and Mr. Jitamanyu Sahoo, LL.M. in Public Law, Human Rights Activist from Odisha. Both are collectively studying the changing socio-political contexts and human rights issues of Jammu and Kashmir.

Overview of Workshop:

The workshop is designed to promote an understanding about the importance of human rights education. It  aims to explore  political, historical and philosophical development of ideas about human rights and underpin to the current emerging human rights issues in India, and other parts of the globe.

Human rights education also provides a basis for conflict resolution and the promotion of social order. The Human Rights themselves often clash, such as when one person’s commitment to public safety conflicts with another’s freedom of expression. As a value system based on respect and the equality and dignity of all people, human rights can create a framework for analyzing and resolving such differences. Human rights education also teaches the skills of negotiation, mediation, and consensus building.

Continuing this effort this training initiative is aimed to develop the capacity to develop the ideas and practices of human rights. This workshop employs both theoretical and practical methods giving participants the chance to put their learning into practice and to pursue individual’s education on human rights.
